Baie d’Orange is a small community located in commune of Belle-Anse around 5 hours driving south-southeast. A church of 60 families is settled on one of the mountains in the Belle-Anse area, where there are a lot of needs since resources are little.

Because of the president stepping down, we anticipated to the expected political unrest.

We left earlier than planned.

On February 4th we have distributed food to 22 families from the Nazarene church in Baie

d’Orange and another 6 families from the community. Supplies for 60 families were brought in case any extra families would show up. The left over supplies were with the purpose that the pastor can distribute them to other families according to his discretion. After our visit Patrik Tika, one of the church committee, made another distribution to 18 families that hadn’t showed up in the morning.

The food kits contained the following items:

  • 25 pounds of rice
  • 1 litre of oil
  • 6 pounds of red kidney beans
  • 2 packages of spaghetti
