From November 1st through 4th of 2013, a pastoral marriage retreat was held in Santiago de Veraguas, Panama, titled “Starting Over”. 39 couples from the districts were blessed through this retreat.
The General Superintendent in Jurisdiction, Dr. David Busic, accompanied by his wife, Christina, shared the Word of God each night.

The couple, Miguel and Irene Garita from the Family Care Ministry in the Mesoamerica Region, gave family care conferences. These were times of learning and were of great blessing for the couples. Irene shared that it was very special to see couples that have been married for 20 years still happily serving the Lord in the way he has called them to.

Carlos De la Cruz and his wife, Amantina De la Cruz, attended this retreat. Rev. Carlos had the opportunity of sharing the Word of God with the group as well.

Regional Director, Dr. Carlos Sáenz, and his wife, Rosa de Sáenz, were the event’s organizers. Carlos shared devotions with the group. Rosa also had a special time with the women. She encouraged them to serve alongside their husbands in ministry.

Rosa shared the following testimony: “There was a pastor who told me beforehand that she would not be able to attend the retreat because she couldn’t walk. The doctor had told her there was nothing else he could do for her. I was surprised when I saw her come to the retreat with her husband. She later testified to how God had raised her up and she was able to come, walking, without a wheelchair. She jumped so that we could see the miraculous way that God had worked in her life.”
