Heavy rains caused rivers to overflow and floods in Trinidad and Tobago last week. Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (MNC) president in the Trinidad District confirmed that many church members and neighbors suffered damage. Churches also suffered structural damage, including the Church of the Nazarene in Piarco, which was left in a devastated condition needing major repairs. Rev. Sammy’s house, and Pastor Ren’s business suffered serious damage.

NCM visited several houses to distribute food and in many cases the floods were an obstacle to distribute the aid. NCM found wounded people and some lost all their belongings. We ask the people of God to join in prayer.
They are in the process of mobilizing pastors and church members to the affected areas to provide help. They have also contacted government agencies and other relief groups, to stay in communication and to let them know of their willingness to help.

Nazarene churches, Five Rivers, and Arima are collecting and distributing food and supplies.
