The Costa Rica Central District met on Feb. 2 to celebrate its 47th annual assembly at the Los Angeles Church of the Nazarene.  District Superintendent Rev. Sirlene Bustos said the assembly was “a time filled with joy, praise and a challenging message from the World of the Lord.”  Rev. Miguel Garita presided over the assembly as a representative of the General Superintendent and also preached during the event.

The district leaders shared their reports, and each pastor shared a testimony.  Many were moved to share how the Lord has walked with them.

To close the assembly, they held an ordination service on Monday, Feb. 4.  Four men and three women were ordained as elders in the Church of the Nazarene.  “It was a moving time in which we felt the presence of the Lord as a part of this memorable moment,” said Rev. Bustos.

“(Ours is) a district that moves forward, that desires to grow and is willing to keep fighting to go where the Lord sends it.  We are taking our theme from 2 Kings 3:16-17, ‘ This is what the Lord says: I will fill this valley with pools of water. For this is what the Lord says: You will see neither wind nor rain, yet this valley will be filled with water . . . ,’” said Rev. Bustos in closing.
