On October 5th, 2016, the Cuba West District Superintendent, Leonel Lopez, reported that after Hurricane Mathew went though the country, there were many floods due to heavy rains. Authorities have said that there was no loss of life. There is still no news of the brothers and sisters in the area of Baracoa and Maisi , which are 2 of the municipalities most affected, communication has not been restored.

He also reported that the East District Superintendent, Luis Batista, tried to travel from Holguin to Baracoa but it was impossible because all the roads are blocked, Due to the intensity of the hurricane in that area, Rev. Luis Bautista believes that more than 11 of our churches have been severely affected as many of the roofs were torn off.

Rev. Leonel Lopez said “We continue praying and hoping to have news of our brothers and sisters in the east, one of the most needy areas of the country. We appreciate your prayers and support”

Join us in prayer for the Cuban people, especially those in Baracoa and Maisi, so that the communication could be restored soon and help can be sent.
