On Saturday, August 8th Helen Herrera, the first volunteer missionary from Costa Rica to be sent to the mission field to the GENESIS project, was bid farewell by her fellow colleagues in SENDAS. Helen will leave soon to the Dominican Republic where she will meet with another volunteer missionary, Freivy López from Chiapas, Mexico South, for training prior to being sent to their service site. The training will last one month, starting on September 22nd. Helen and Freivy will be serving together in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, for a 2 years period.

Helen said the following “I am closing stages of my life and starting new ones. My time at SENDAS is a step that I am concluding. I’m immensely grateful for the opportunity I had to work in the institution. I feel satisfied having grown up in many areas, but most of all to have learned so much from all my teammates.”

Let us keep our prayers for the Regional GENESIS Project missionaries and volunteers, especially for Helen and Freivy who are starting a new phase in their lives. We pray that the Lord will give them strength, encouragement and the resources they need to continue the ministry to which they have been called.
