Coban North District

The Guatemala Coban North District celebrated its 18th annual assembly on Mar. 7 in Aldea Pequixul. Field Strategy Coordinator Dr. Leonel De Leon presided and also preached the Word of God. District Superintendent Rev. Miguel Xol Xol shared in his reported that 550 leaders in the district participated in Vision 2020: Leaders Making Leaders, the Power of One training. He also reported that he visited 64 of the 72 organized churches in the district. The district added 552 new members, organized 78 prayer cell groups and has 15 mission-type churches. The assembly closed with a prayer of consecration led by Pastor De Leon for the pastoral body and the district advisory board.

North Verapaz District

The Guatemala Verapaz North District celebrated its 90th annual assembly on Mar. 8 at the Coban Central Church of the Nazarene. General Superintendent Dr. David Graves, Regional Director Dr. Carlos Saenz and Field Strategy Coordinator Rev. Leonel De Leon presided.   The assembly approved monthly financial assistance for pastors who retired from the district.

South Verapaz District

The Guatemala Verapaz South District held its 4th annual assembly on Mar. 9 at the Strong Tower Church of the Nazarene. General Superintendent Dr. David Graves, Regional Director Dr. Carlos Saenz and Field Strategy Coordinator Rev. Leonel De Leon presided. Dr. Graves preached the Word of God and challenged the assembly to give everything to the Lord Jesus and expect miracles in their lives. District Superintendent Rev. Victor Manuel Bin followed with his reported. He mentioned that the district added 403 new members and organized 2 new churches. In May 2017, construction began on the new district center. The assembly closed with a service to ordain three pastors as elders and to install the newly elected leaders to the district advisory board.
