The Guatemala Verapaz North District ended 2019 by celebrating the organization of two new churches.  The churches are the Mount Zion Church of the Nazarene with 74 members, and the Israel Church of the Nazarene with 45 members.

“It’s beautiful to see how the two churches organized themselves, accepting the challenge to be fruitful churches,” said Verapaz North District Superintendent Rev. Francisco Cho Si.  On the following Sunday, the Mount Zion Church of the Nazarene received 14 new members, which increased the total membership to 89.  The Israel Church of the Nazarene, after only 15 days of being officially organized, showed great advances in the construction of a parsonage for its pastor.

“We are seeing the work of the Holy Spirit, in that we see in the members, boards and pastors that they are fulfilling the Word of God. ‘. . . it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose,’” Rev. Cho Si said.  “We give the glory to God for this victory and the extension of his Kingdom in Verapaz, Guatemala. We encourage each pastor and church to continue in the path of service to God, knowing that he will do what Jesus said: ‘I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.’”

Keep these new brothers and sisters in the faith and their pastors in your prayers.
