On Saturday, January 7th, 2017, in an atmosphere of celebration and gratitude to God, the inauguration of the Water Project was held in the Church of the Nazarene “Loma Bonita” in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas, Southern District of Mexico. This is the first water project for the Chiapas – Oaxaca initiative, signed by the Healings Waters International Organization, the Church of the Nazarene and Nazarene Compassion Ministries (MNC).

During the inauguration, Brother Sebastián Ovando mentioned that the Holistic Model includes discussions of health and community health, the Church will teach good hygiene practices with lessons based on the Bible that will help the numbers of gastrointestinal infections decrease.

The water project will allow us to find physical needs in the community and through compassion will open hearts to receive the good news of God’s love and know the message of hope. One of the objectives of the Nazarene Compassion Ministries is to transform the community, to meet the physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs, through the local Churches, in the name of Jesus.

“Wherever there is a true Christian community, compassion will naturally flow into the world” (Henri Nouwen).
