From July 31 to August 5, 2015, 5 Mexican and 7 Haitians served together in a Maximum Mission conducted in three great needy sites in Haiti (Petite Riviere de L`Artibonite Gros-Mornes and Majuin).

An experience described by participants as wonderful and a great blessing. The Mexican group was under the leadership and coordination of Claudia Cruz, Southern Mexico Global Mission coordinator. Kesner Absolu, Global Mission coordinator in his country, coordinated the Haitian group. Despite language barriers, God showed his love, faithfulness and unity in the Spirit.

The work was intense and very tiring because the Mexicans flew to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and from there traveled by bus to Haiti. However, the Lord gave them the strength to fulfill the mission.

The young people served with all their hearts and with all their strength:

  • The sanctuary of the new Church of the Nazarene in Gros-Mornes was painted and there was cleaning on a street with the help of the nationals.
  • They conducted a VBS where Biblical principles were taught, they sang in Spanish and Mexican candies were given out.
  • House to house evangelism was conducted; they met the needs of people who were hungry to hear the voice of God. While sharing the word of God, people stopped to listen. Fifteen people made the decision to surrender their lives to God and more than 20 new contacts with a desire to learn more about God were obtained.
  • One afternoon they traveled to Petite Riviere to show the Jesus film. Children, youth and adults were attentive to the message. There was a calling and a prayer time.
  • On Sunday, Claudia Cruz shared the Word of God; the Mexican team sang praise in Spanish. They shared testimonies. The congregation from the Charier Church joined them on Sunday. Before the end of the service, the Mexico team gave an offering to the church to buy materials to lay the sanctuary floor. After the service, there was a time of fellowship that was accompanied by chocolate and bread. Clothing and other things for children, youth and adults were given out.

Claudia Cruz shared the following: “These written lines are so few compared to everything that happened during those days in Haiti, God is greatly moving and giving us dreams and visions. As Global Mission coordinator and leader of this team, I am very grateful to God for the life of the people of Mexico. It was the first time they made a missionary trip abroad, three of them had never taken a trip outside their country. During this time, God transformed them in the way of how He wants us to love Him and love people, the way He wants to serve Him by serving people.

I am grateful to God for new friends Erline, Pastor Shadrach and Pastor Wilgens, Darlot, Michelet, Wasner and Anier, our team in Haiti.

Here a few small fragments of the Mexican Team’s testimony:

“I thank my Heavenly Father for such great opportunity … This experience has shaped my life not only because it’s my first time out of the country, but because there were many hours of traveling, and I did jobs that I thought I could not do because of some physical limitations. God has shown me that when it comes to his work, there are no limitations because He walks with me. God showed me that I’m fragile, but useful. Many times, I asked myself what could I do for God? Sometimes I settled by sitting and watching while the others worked. Now I know I must walk to serve God, I should talk about it where I am, because if I don’t, I will die. No matter the place: my home, my church, my country, he says go to the ends of the earth.

This is the first of many mission trips together with this team I plan to do it again and I hope that more people join us. I feel very blessed “

And I commanded you: do not be afraid or discouraged! For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go “Joshua 1: 9

“This trip has a special meaning in my life. Long ago, God placed in me a dream, the dream to serve and help people of another country, that dream seemed forgotten to me, but now I know God did not forget. I have learned that my dreams are dreams that belong to our God and His dreams are my dreams, and sooner or later they will come true.

This trip gave me the opportunity to meet my beloved Haitian brothers, to know they were praying for us, knowing that they were very anxiously waiting, it warmed my heart. It is a blessing to know the church, the children of the congregation, meeting the needs of the church, knowing their strengths, knowing how they work, meeting leaders working for true love and great enthusiasm. It amazes me what Kesner and the church is doing for the community … I long to return and continue to serve our God. Haiti is a good place to demonstrate service and our God’s love “

“This has been a wonderful experience. What was a dream and prayer for three years, to travel to Haiti, God fulfilled it. I am happy and grateful to have met such wonderful people, my teammates, the mission of the Genesis project in the Dominican Republic and many dear Haitian people. I learned so much and God has worked a lot in me, He has shown me what He is able to do in my life, the gifts He has given me and how He wants me to use them for his ministry. He has taught me to trust Him; He has sensitized my heart not just to the international need, but also to the need of my own family and my own local church.

I’m 18 years old and I want to be part of that radical generation within this changing, challenging world. I want to be an agent of good news, I hope my family, my local church, my district, my country and my Mesoamerica region, can do the same; having this vision because many hands are needed, many hearts are ready, we need to work, persevere and not give up. I encourage you! Let’s all contribute to the Great Commission, our great mission.

There is much work to do, but I’m sure this is the beginning of great things. We will see his glory! Do you want to see His glory? JOIN US! “

“It was an enriching and challenging experience,, from the moment I left my home to our destination. God was speaking to me: You have to trust me, nothing happens without passing through my hands, wherever you find yourself, you are in my love and grace; I want to share what I have given you. However, sharing the love of God is very challenging, given the situation, where Haitians live there in a matter of belief. But God kept talking: It is my love; I’m at work in the hearts of people. I love working with children, they make feel like I am child, Serving and learning from from them was a blessing. Today, I confirmed again that God continues to transform me, over and over, and I never get tired of serving, to be a useful instrument.

It was wonderful to work with my friends, despite having different jobs, different lifestyle, we united for a common purpose; further strengthening our friendship. I give glory to God for the extraordinary changes that He makes in His people, Mexican, Haitians, the whole world “
