On September 17th and 18th 2016, the “Meeting Point”, Mexico’s XXVI National Youth Bible Quizzing Meet was held with over 300 young people from around the country gathered at the “Grace Pasquel” University Cultural Center, in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. Eleven districts were represented: South, Oaxaca, Gulf, East, South Pacific, South Border, Northeast, Central, West, Northwest and the hosting North District.

Mesoamerica NYI coordinator Rev. Milton Gay shared the word of God and challenged young people to live a life of consecration and holiness.

Leaders: Elder Jorge Cordova, Mexico FSC; Rev. Milton Gay and Fabiola Sanchez, Mexico NYI Coordinator, made the official opening of the event.

On Saturday, each team gave their all during the competitions; it was a very exciting time. The East team won the victory, getting the pass to the semifinals, where West, South Pacific and Oaxaca were waiting. At night there was a special time to deliver Posthumous Recognition to Jose Maria Gutierrez “Chemita”, a Bible quizzer from the South district who was killed this year, in a way to honor him all the NYI participants applauded for a minute. After the inaugural ceremony there was a concert with “Sandy Rodriguez and his band”.

On the second day, in the semifinals, the Oaxaca team competed against South Pacific and the West against the East, the final competition was between the Oaxaca and West teams; where the West team was crowned National Champion.

“Thank God for this time, for this moment as Mexico NYI and the Youth Bible Quizzing. There are great and exciting things coming! But, about all, joy and gladness for God’s Children.”
