On Tuesday September 16th, 2014, after a period of planning, promotion and lots of excitement, on-site Youth Ministry Program began in the Mexico Northeast District. A total of 32 students attended, including NYI council members, local and district zone presidents, as well as pastors and NYI leaders, representing 15 churches in the district; all wish to prepare to better serve the Mexican youth.

The group will take a class for a whole week, once a month, to complete 14 required courses; the program will culminate October 2015. The students will have a different teacher in each class; distinguished leaders of the Church of the Nazarene, with extensive experience in the matter.

Rev. Milton Gay, NYI Coordinator of the Mesoamerica Region, started the program teaching the course: “Equipping and Developing Youth Leaders”

Fabiola Sanchez, Mexico North NYI Coordinator said: “We thank God for the vision they have for youth and leadership in Mexico, for the organizational team that made all this possible and for the young people, for their willingness and commitment to continue learning more about youth ministry and implementing it, thus seeking to become better spiritual guide of adolescents and youth we have in our NYI and those who we want to reach for Christ. Pray that this group is strengthened and remains, that is the first of many generations willing to give everything to God, to serve Him and minister to youth. ”
