The Servants of God Church of the Nazarene in Nicaragua, began the “Rays of Hope” project, which will meet the needs of 100 children from the neighborhoods near the church.

There are teachers participating in the project to lead crafts, help with homework and lead disciplieship classes.  There is also a team of cooks to prepare snacks, lunch and supper every Saturday.  The project will last for one year and is sponsored by Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries.

The project officially opened during the celebration for Mother’s Day and International Children’s Day in which 600 mothers and 650 children were recognized in more than 20 churches in the Nicaragua North District.  The congregations held thanksgiving services with hymns, recitations, Bible themes, special music, competitions and games, among other activities.
