We have received the first report of damages from Area Coordinator Alphonso Porter after Hurricane Irma made landfall in St. Martin.

I was trying since last night but I tried again just now and got through. In St Martin there is massive devastation. For our 3 churches, one has been completely destroyed and knocked down flat- the Marigot Church. The Cripple Gate Church roof was blown off and all the equipment and chairs completely damaged. The 2 buses that the church owned have been damaged beyond repair. The Quartier d’ Orleans Church also lost a section of the roof and their church bus was also damaged. Daniel Blaise said 75% of the members have completely lost their homes. He also reported that Pastor Jean Larevoir,  who is the pastor in charge on the St Martin Zone, is so discouraged over the situation because he sees the people suffering but can’t do anything to help. Food and water and living accommodations are the immediate needs. We thank God that there has been no loss of lives.  I will give another update later today.

Keep praying for the church in the Caribbean and the mobilization of disaster response efforts.
