A Handbook for Discipleship Training
by Ramón Sierra

What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus? Understanding what a disciple is and what a disciple does are top priorities for the church. Frequently, the church throws the word "disciple" around freely, but too often with no definition, or with various definitions that can be confusing and even contradictory.

Many churches do not have a discipleship ministry, not because they ignore the topic, but because they have mistakenly ...

- equated making disciples with evangelizing.

- have assumed that discipleship is simply the automatic result of people participating in the programs and activities of the church: attending services, teaching, working with children and young people, evangelizing, etc.

This Handbook for Discipleship Training is oriented to trainers, men and women, young and old, followers of Jesus in the Church, committed and with the necessary gifts to disciple others.

The lessons aim to provide basic tools for realizing an intentional, dynamic and life-long discipleship ministry.

Each lesson contains:

- A lesson summary at the beginning with the general objective and the key Bible verses to memorize.

- Group exercises scattered throughout the lesson and at the end there is an integration exercise.

- After each lesson you will find a Focusing exercise. This will allow you to go deeper in one aspect of the lesson.
