THEOLOGY

DOCTRINE

These two words send shivers up the spine of most youth workers. When asked to teach their youth the important theological truths of Christianity, most youth workers typically reply "How can I teach them what I don't understand myself?' Good question.

This book has been developed to help with this task. It takes into account the lack of theological training of most youth workers, and the need for youth to understand the  central truths of the Christian faith. This  book is designed to teach these truths in a small-group setting in which students, teachers, and faith mentors learn together.

In this book, you will find:

  • Theological truths explained in everyday language for both the teacher and the student.
  • An overview of youth culture with a focus on why our youth seemingly reject truth and what we can do to counteract this.
  • Engaging activities that will challenge and strengthen the faith of youth.
  • How using adult mentors can greatly aid your youth in understanding these great truths.
  • Special orders of worship that involved the whole faith community in confirming the faith of those students and mentors who journey together through this curriculum.

Vital Beliefs is a long overdue resource for those in the Wesleyan-Holiness faith tradition. Every church in that tradition is encouraged to use this book to assist youth as they search for their identity in the Story of God.
