On Saturday May 10, 2014, an average of 120 youth from the Central District of Panama, attended a Youth Mini Conference, organized by the Central District NYI in Panama, led by its president, Eusebio Bermudez.

The activity was held in El Progreso Church of the Nazarene and started with a powerful prayer by the youth for the national and global NYI, followed by a time of worship. After some special presentations they heard the word of God through District Superintendent Rev. Carlos de la Cruz, who spoke on 1 Samuel 17:25, and summarized 9 points to help young people to be effective:

1. Understand that Great Opportunities come without warning.

2. Fighting with recognition that there is reward.

3. Tie the victory with word before fighting.

4. Being fast.

5. Determine a date to victory.

6. Invent and use effective projectiles.

7.Have new and fresh ideas.

8. Finish what we started.

9. Doing things that inspire others.

They received a workshop about “Youth Friendship Groups” led by Ana Zoila Crocker. Also was held a workshop on evangelism tool “GOL” by Pastor Dimas Josué Acuña, who encouraged the youth to evangelize through sport and fellowship. The Missionary Wendy Lopez shared more about what NYI is, among other topics of regional interest.

Pastor and Evangelism Coordinator, Amable Polanco Peralta, shared about “Maximum Mission” encouraging young people to fulfill the purpose of every Christian to go into the entire world and preach the gospel.

“At the end of the conference you could tell that all who were there were filled with the Holy Spirit, renewed with new strengths, hoping that God will do great things in the District through the NYI.”
