During December 2013 and January 2014, the Church of the Nazarene, “Poder de lo Alto” located in Rosister Carballo, Central District of Costa Rica; collected notebooks and school supplies, in order to help 50 underprivileged children in their community. Thanks to the support of friends and some churches in the district, they managed to collect more than 800 books for 150 children, which exceeded the original goal.

They delivered the supplies on February 9 at the children dining room of the school “Brisas de Virilla”, because their church, which houses 40 members, was too small for the event.

It is important to mention that this idea was born in the heart of Brother David Castro, NMI president of the local church, and his family; who at one point, had difficulty in obtaining school supplies. They wanted to support 4 underprivileged children, and shared this desire in the social networks with some friends. Little by little people expressed their desire to support this project. They never imagined that this would become a great Operation. “Jesus taught me to give” that this would bless many families.

It is expected to continue this work next year. Next time, the goal will to bless 250 underprivileged children from the areas of San José, Heredia and Aranjuez de Puntarenas.

Brother David Castro shared the following appreciation: “We are grateful to God and to you for making this miracle come true. We have no words to express what we feel. It only remains to say: God bless you for your good heart, may you and your families have peace and may God’s love continue to manifest in every possible way in your life.”

Pray for this small, yet great church in Rosister Carballo. They have taught us through this powerful testimony that the Lord does great things and multiplies when we put our resources in His hands to bless others. Pray for their leadership and for a pastor, because at this time they do not have one.
