The Church of the Nazarene Trinidad and Tobago District hosted the SPARK Conference from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th September 2015 at the Grace Communion International (formerly World Wide Church of God, Samaroo Village in Arima Trinidad).  The main goal of the Conference was the lighting of a SPARK to transform a nation within each participating individual and church.  District Superintendent Dr. Victor George said “We have planned SPARK 2015 as an opportunity to provide training and in some cases re-training for our people.”

Over three (3) days District Leaders, Pastors, Church Board members, Ministry Team Workers from the thirty (30) Local Nazarene Churches, and Believers from other Denominations were exposed to training that hopefully would lead to the development of transformational leaders who would be used by God to grow local churches.  Three hundred and fifty (350) persons eventually participated in the Conference.
Conference presenters included Dr Bill Wiesman from the USA (Effective Church Planting), Rev. Don Hamilton (Basic Principles of Counselling), Rev. Douglas Gibson (Spiritual Formation in the Family), Rev. Luke Quamina (Strategic Development), Salley Ramey (Transformational and Servant Leadership), Rev. Cuthbert Gordon (Church and Sexuality), Richard Mc Clatchie (Sound and  Multimedia Training), Annette Joseph (Parent Child Relations), Clifton Dupigny (Career Guidance), Rev. Lewin Mayers (Ethics; Team Work), Rev. Paul Bunsee (Conflict Resolution in the Home; Mentorship), Madonna Sampson-Doyle (Communication), and Natalie O’Brady (Child Abuse and Family Violence).
A highlight of the Conference was a video presentation done by the District’s Passionate Evangelism Team on local “New Starts” churches including the Nazarene Holiness Center in Sangre Grande, the La Platta New Start in Valencia, and the El Bethel Community Church in Palmyra. Pictures from the District’s Work and Witness Team’s trip to Tuschen, Guyana were also shown to conference participants.
