From January 6th to 11th, 2015, the Global NYI event “Third Wave” was held in the Nazarene Seminary of the Americas, SENDAS, in Costa Rica.169 participants from 35 countries attended the event, of which 47 represented the Mesoamerica Region. The purpose of this event since its inception has been training emerging Global NYI youths and adolescents leaders.

The following global leaders shared with the young people: Dr. Carlos Sáenz, Mesoamerica Regional Director and Rev. Milton Gay, Global NYI Coordinator and Chairman, gave the welcome. General Superintendent Dr.Gustavo Crocker preached about evangelism as part of the Church’s mission.Furthermore World Mission Director, Dr. Verne Ward, preached on the “sending” of servants to the Lord’s mission.

All plenaries were oriented to the Global NYI purposes: BE, DO, GO.

It is worth mentioning that for the first time “World Market” grossed $ 2,230, which was donated to the Mesoamerica Youth Ministry Project.

Maximum Mission was an event of great benefit to the Costa Rican community. It was conducted by youth in 4 communities where the Word of God was preached; there were activities with children, painting, and garbage collection, among others. In addition to showing gratitude for the work done, there were people who made the decision to follow Jesus.”It was a blessing to see so many young people working for the kingdom of God”, mentioned Rev.Milton Gay.

After the event, the group of young leaders shared Communion; they also had a very special time of washing the feet of the Field Coordinators and participants. Many received God’s call to serve, they returned to their countries wanting to get involved and start their studies in Youth Ministry.

Milton Gay commented: “As a Regional NYI Coordinator and President it was a blessing to receive young people from all over the world. It has been a blessing to host the Regional Council.I thank God for this beautiful event, which drew many young people to be the leaders we are looking for.

I thank the Regional Director Dr. Carlos Saenz for allowing us to hold this event in the region, to SENDAS for offering quality services, to Gaby Bustos, Central Field NYI Coordinator for her excellent job, to each volunteer missionary who offered support, and to the churches that were involved. We also thank the FSCs for supporting their young people in participating in this event, the Regional NYI Council for achieving the success of this event and Mesoamerica Communications for the preparation and production of the entire event.
