The Mexico South District held a family congress Mar. 20-24 in Arriaga, Chiapas called Threats and Challenges for Today’s Families. Seventy pastoral couples and 50 lay couples attended.

They held 10 workshops focused on various topics related to marriage and family. Some focused on threats to marriages and families, and some focused on strengthening both. Each day someone preached about how to strengthen family relationships. One of the workshops was geared towards men and entitled “The position of the man as a husband, father and son in these times.” Another was specifically for women, called “Review of your experience as a woman through the relationship with your mother and home of origin.” The event also included times of consecration for the couples and individuals.

“It was a wonderful time of fellowship. We thank the Lord for this blessed time with our brothers and sisters,” said Irene Jimenez, who facilitated several of the workshops.
