From October 21st to the 28th, 2016, the “Reactive” youth training camp was held in Cuba. NYI leaders from both districts were present. The camp was conducted in the West District, in Punta Brava, Havana, Cuba from the 21st to the 23rd and in the East district, in the Holguin Church from the 26th to the 28th. A total of 95 young people were trained to serve the youth in their context.

They had the support of NYI Global Director Rev. Gary Hartke, Mesoamerica NYI Coordinator Rev. Milton Gay, and Mesoamerica Central Field NYI Coordinator, Gaby Bustos. Odily Diaz, Mesoamerica North Central Field NYI Coordinator, Pastor Juan Ramón Campos from El Salvador, and local leaders led by the District NYI president, Pastor Jose Luis Pino also collaborated.

The team had a special time of prayer for Cuba, for the church in general and for those affected by Hurricane Matthew, for timely help for them and especially for Alberto Suarez who suffered the loss of part of his house in the Municipality of Baracoa.

“God allowed us to have a blessed time with the youth of both districts and was conducive to our care and needs, very good things will come for our brothers in Cuba, we pray that these can be fulfilled under the will of God.”
